Thanks everybody

I want to take a moment to thank everyone for the phone calls, messages and prayers concerning my relatives in Lebanon. Your kind words are laxatives to the soul in these bleak times.

As of late, my aunt's husband's village was bombed, though no one we know of was hurt, thank God. My father's sister, who suffers from terminal cancer and is now in a coma, can't be transported to a hospital due to the danger involved, so, her nephew resides at her bedside in her home. Everyone else has taken refuge in the mountains where they have easy access to food and other provisions. We were worried sick after many failed attempts at contacting them, but alas, a cousin in Toronto got a voice on the receiving end.

At this point I won't delve into politics, you can or already have read the papers and watched the news. But i will depart with a prayer that Hizbollah be stopped, so Israel's excessive retaliation ceases, and peace be restored upon the many innocent men, women, and children who are fearing for their lives every minute; about 50 of whom I love like crazy.

Laura, I had no idea you had any - let alone 50 - family and friends in the middle of that right now. I can't imagine the grief and worry you're experiencing right now. Adam and I will keep you and your in our thoughts and prayers while this insanity lasts. Thank you for this post to help everyone realize just how real and heartbreaking this conflict is. We Americans can be pretty out of the loop.

Sarah-- at first i was a bit apprehensive about posting such a personal entry, but in a way it's been cathartic bc it's so nice to know that people really care. thank you both for your prayers-- that's all i can ask for.

Jon-- yes, you've been good at keeping up with the news these days, i hate looking at the t.v. anymore. thank you for your hope and support. you know i wish for the same.
